Don’t ask why David has this pipe dream of a short episode of phpBB Weekly, but this episode sure didn’t turn out to be what he was looking for. Which might be a good thing. While we did ramble off of our expected script a bit, we had a pretty good, in-depth discussion in the middle of the show.
phpBB 3.0.2 has been released, and we discuss what’s new and the various bugs that have been fixed, along with a few minor new features.
We then go into a bit of a discussion about the duties that the phpBB MOD team has and discuss a bit about their documentation and how their phpBB3 MODding documentation differs a bit from the docs that they had back when phpBB2 MODding was the “in” thing.
Also, the phpBB Blog has been unveiled as a new way to bridge the gap between the team members and the community, as well as a partial replacement for the now-dormant Official phpBB Podcast, and David leads us in a short game of musical chairs. You’ll just have to find out what that menas for yourself.
Finally, in our Londonvasion Update (and yes, we remembered the jingle this time), David shares what his personal travel itinerary will be in London, and we share our finalized Londonvasion plans and Douglas talks about Londonvasion Central.
There is no MOD or Style of the Week this week.

did you use 3rd party software to clean it up?

Depends. Listening or talking over TalkShoe does reduce the quality somewhat, which is why we record separately from TalkShoe and most of our guests come in via Skype, which has much better quality.
So with what David is going to be recording we are only going to get to hear what you put in the highlights episode in #73? Besides #71 and #72.. I’m sure alot of people would want to hear everything that is said from any presentation that gets recorded. Especially if Acydburn is doing it since hes one of the least vocal team members. I doubt there would be much editing to do just separate the presentations up into separate mp3s. And Im sure there are plenty of places to host these mp3s.
For phpBB Weekly, we’ll be doing #071 (the pre-Londonvasion episode), #072 (with one session of Londonvasion being done live), and #073 (highlights from the rest of Londonvasion). However, since David is going to be recording the entire Londonvasion conference (and others are going to be recording video), all of that will be finding its way onto the internet one way or another and will be linked to on Londonvasion Central. So, no, phpBB Weekly will not have every single minute of Londonvasion broadcast on our feed, but that’s what I put Londonvasion Central together for.
Well, it will still be available somewhere. Thats all I was getting at.. I wasnt expecting there to be multiple episodes of phpBB Weekly just for every minute of the conference.
