		<description>mod_security and similar tools are what I would call (and what others would call) a virtual patch. That is, they give you some time until you can patch the software. It is a band-aid in that regard. When I say band-aid, I don&#039;t mean that it doesn&#039;t work, because it does, but you shouldn&#039;t rely on mod_security and other application firewalls to protect you without patching the code.</description>
