Cheating Our Way to Episode #100
Wait a minute, what’s that supposed to mean?
Well, yesterday, David informed me that due to a sudden change of plans, he will no longer be available on Saturday, February 28th, the originally scheduled date of phpBB Weekly’s 100th episode. Personally, I wasn’t very thrilled because I really want David to be with us as we celebrate our centennial episode. Furthermore, I won’t be available on Saturday, March 7th, and while I was planning to be here this Saturday, it’s somewhat inconvenient for me. So, what were we to do?
Well, typically (for this show), we’ve come up with a really corny solution and here it is:
- We’re taking this Saturday (February 21st) off so that we can do some other things. There will be no episode this weekend.
- Saturday, February 28th will be episode #099 at the usual time, and David will not be there. I will be hosting, maybe by himself or maybe with another guest host. That’s still up in the air.
- Saturday, March 7th will be–get this–episode #099½. It will be at the usual time and I will not be there. David will be hosting, likely with other guest hosts. Get it? I get to do the “first half” of episode #099 myself, and David gets to do the “second half” himself! Man, I crack myself up. Of course, they likely won’t be “halves” of episodes other than the numbering; we’ll still do all of the usual stuff for each.
- And finally, Saturday, March 14th will be our one-hundredth episode. We’re still arranging our plans for the one-hundredth episode, and if all goes according to our hopes, it should be a great show. More information on that episode will be coming soon.
So that’s our roadmap for the next few weeks. As a reminder, we’re taking this weekend off, and we’ll be back on 2/28 for the first episode #099! Hope you’re getting as excited for #100 as we are…

Say, guys, I think I have the solution to your problem. It appears to me that you missed an episode number. Namely, episode #56. The numbering has been off ever since, so really, there have only been 97 episodes of phpBB Weekly up till now. This fits perfectly with your schedule! Yay!
(Hint: the episode that was tagged #57 was in early april 2008, #55 was march 23rd
)
Actually, we did episode #056; it was our April Fool’s Day show: http://www.phpbbweekly.net/2008/03/30/vbulletin-weekly-056/
Yes, and it was called vBulletin Weekly, so that’s one episode less of phpBB Weekly. That was my point, easy way out of the dilemma of having really one episode too many of phpBB Weekly
Apparently, the tongue-in-cheek nature of my reply didn’t quite come across
