phpBB Weekly

It is with much regret that I share that David Lewis (Highway of Life) has just informed me that he will be taking a hiatus from phpBB Weekly and other phpBB activities for about the next two months or so. I know that this comes as a complete surprise to me and I’m sure all of you as well.

In a private message from about an hour ago, David explained that the reason that he was not here for today’s episode of phpBB Weekly was because his company, on very short notice, flew himself and Francis (Handyman) out to their Nashville HQ, and have loaded them up with an insane amount of work. According to David, “they gave us a deadline in 40 days that we have to meet, and the amount of work that they asked to be done amounts to about 120 days worth of normal work for each person, so it will be necessary to forfeit sleep for the month of March.”

David has made it clear that he intends to return to co-host phpBB Weekly as soon as he has the opportunity to do so. In the meantime, episode #099½, originally scheduled for next Saturday, March 7th, has been cancelled, as I will be away next weekend. Our next episode will be our one-hundredth episode on Saturday, March 14th (come ready to celebrate!), and David has told me that although it’s unlikely, he might be able to pop in on that episode to share some congrats. In the meantime, I will be doing some hunting and vetting for a temporary co-host to take David’s place for that time (I’m already starting to feel like I was a part of Barack Obama’s transition team), and will make an announcement here once I have made my pick.

I am very grateful to David for all that he has contributed to phpBB Weekly over the past eighty episodes and look forward to his eventual return to the podcast in the near future.
